National Vehicle Extrication Program in Tifton, GA is Just Days Away!

First Responders Emergency Extrication (FREE) course promotes efficient motor vehicle rescue procedures for emergency personnel to utilize at the scene of an accident.

In just a few days, on Thursday, January 26th, AR Direct a member of the National Auto Body Council (NABC), will be hosting the latest in vehicle extrication technology to first responders across our community.

“First responders such as firemen require the most current vehicle information to be effective and save lives at the scene of an accident,” stated Barry Barbee, Executive Director at AR Direct and National Auto Body Council Board Member. “FREE courses help keep these individuals up to date, which is more important than ever given the rapid onslaught of advancements in vehicle design such as high-strength steels, advanced restraint systems, and multiple airbags. The growing popularity of high-voltage hybrid vehicles also makes a class like this a necessity. It is an honor to help the Tifton Fire Department out and we’re very proud of the jobs our first responders do in our community.”

Late model vehicles, scheduled to be donated by national insurance companies, will be available for first responders to practice on, a true strength of the program since most fire departments don’t have access to such vehicles. In addition to Barbee, AR Direct’s Director of Operations, Dustin Wheeler, will be in attendance.

“This program is a perfect fit for our community and the excitement is building as the day of the program gets nearer,” added Barbee. “Local fire departments have indicated this kind of knowledge is much needed. We are honored to be able to deliver critical information to those who need it most. There’s been a lot of anticipation in our community so far, and we look forward to delivering it.

Through the combined effort from State Farm, Geico and AR Direct, 16 cars are being donated to this program slated to get area firefighters certified for the State of Georgia Emergency Extraction courses.
